Create your account and set up your classes. Choose the set up option that works best for your class. These articles will help differentiate (no pun intended!) those options.

Start off by assigning some silly quizzes and playing around with the settings so you and the students can get used to the interface and how it all works. Try using this quiz as your first one...

Note: Try to use curriculum tagged quizzes as often as you can, whether you find one in the marketplace to assign directly, edit a copy from the marketplace and tag to your own curriculum, or create a quiz from scratch and tag from there. Learn more in the next stage.

Again, Finding or Creating Curriculum Tagged Quizzes is very easy. And the reason it is so important to use curriculum tagged quizzes is to populate your Mastery Dashboards. Click on the picture to learn more!

While some prefer to find existing quizzes, many others opt to create quizzes from scratch. 

Creating quizzes is easy and can be achieved in a variety of ways. The simplest is to create one question at a time in our quiz editor. Also included is a tutorial for using Math Mode for math and science teachers.

There are also shortcuts that make creating quizzes much easier and efficient. You may already own existing questions that you wish to convert into Quizalize quizzes. In these cases copying into an excel sheet and bulk importing may be your best option. This article also highlights a few of our other available question types.

And lastly, we have an integration with Quizlet that allows you to import a Quizlet set. Perfect for flashcard type review of terminology in any subject.

There is so much you can learn about not just your students, but about the efficacy of your lesson planning. Self-assessment is a critical part of effective teaching and this tool makes this so much easier! 

After all, this is the purpose of formative assessment.

Coming Soon: How to Analyze Data in your Mastery Dashboards

Most teachers by this point use Quizalize the same as other formative assessment platforms (typically as a review activity), but there is so much more that sets us apart. The first is our ability to assign automatic follow up activities, and quantify student improvement in ways no other platform can.

This is just the beginning, there are more advanced ways to use the improvements feature that you can learn about later.

If you teach in teams you may wish to divvy your content creation by sharing quizzes, or you want to share with a wider community such as on Facebook or Twitter. Here's how:

Pro Tip: Utilize a standardized naming strategy in your team. Now that our marketplace has filters to help you find curriculum tagged content, you and your team members could help each other identify quizzes created by your peers. For example, if you work at the School of Zzishcraft and Wizardry, perhaps add SZW into the title of your quizzes to more easily search for and identify these quizzes.

We feel it's important in this last stage to emphasize Quizalize is not trying to compete for class-time with other tools, rather we are in a position to complement them.
